Sort of feel like a goof. I was obviously making this harder that it should be.

These are pretty cool. Do you have them and use them?
 
I have used shears many times to cut fishing line and they work OK. I even rescued a decorator crab all wrapped up in fishing line to the point it was unable to move.

With dry gloves reducing mobility, shears are one of the safest tools to break out. Steak knives cut down are pretty good too, since they are not really sharp.

Because of kelp we can not put anything strapped to our legs. More ab divers have died because of their knife sheath catching kelp then those that have been saved by having a knife.

I use them and have been for a few years. The knife works well and I have used the clippers to cut through leader wire several times. I'd recommend them.
