It has been suggested that I look into a pair of diving shears and ditch one of my knives.

Currently I dive with two knives, one on my waist and one on my calf.

My various LDS really don't have "shears" and all I can really find on various internet sites are shears and EMT would use.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Chris

I guess so! I was expecting more for some reason. These look just like EMT shears.

They generally *are* EMT shears. Just go grab a pair from your local EMS supply or medical bookstore.

Also available at some drug stores.

It's only a minor added benefit, but if you have a choice, an all-stainless pair, or at least a stainless steel hinge won't rust as quickly as the more common hardened steel variety. But for the small cost of shears in general, it's not critical.

I've found shears are not terribly effective for cutting fishing line. They are not all that tightly put together and fishing line often slides in between the blades. I've had much better luck using tin snips for cutting line.

Whatever you use, rinse and dry after every dive and apply olive oil to keep it from rusting.
