    Subsurface 4.5.2 has been released.
Just a small update that addresses the issue with the latest firmware for Heinrichs Weikamp OSTC dive computers (which no longer allowed downloads to Subsurface before this upgrade).

Also, for those with so far unsupported Linux distributions (like PCLinuxOS) we now have an AppImage for Linux that might work for you. We're very interested in feedback on that.

    Subsurface 4.5.3 has been released
    Changes since 4.5.2:
    - remove a confusing warning about different number of tanks and gases with some Suunto dive computers
    - fix missing temperatures on some Suunto dive computers
    - fix several corner cases in the Uemis support
    - fix a few random UI inconsistencies (UI elements not being cleared / removed / reset in certain circumstances)
    - Cloud storage: no longer store picture binary data in the Subsurface cloud storage -- this could cause excessively long sync times
    - when matching dive site names when entering a location name, match anywhere in the location name, not just from the beginning (this makes it much easier to find existing dive locations if you remember only part of the name)
    - some fixes for importing data from other formats
    - English user manual has been updated for language consistency and readability

Sorry, but although I follow the procedure given on subsurface website, I can't upgrade with Linux Mint 17.3.

Is it me (highly probable) or something else ?

    Thanks.

The latest packages on Launchpad are date stamped a day after your query. So are you now able to install or still having trouble? (I think there was some problems with the Linux binaries, so that might have caused your problems...) If you still are having trouble, a bit more information would be appreciated to figure out what is wrong.

Yeah everything worked fine in the end. Thanks for your answer anyway and all the best for 2016.

    Greetings, new user here.
    Installed v4.5.3 on 64 bit windows 7.
Imported my D9 logs from DM3.
So far I like what I see.
Just had to change tank sizes on a few (50) logs.(LP196) twin 98's vs AL80 on most of dives.
    Editing is simple & intuitive.
Haven't tried to download from D9 via usb cable yet.

Any update on the status of an Android version?

The Android version is currently in closed alpha (limited testing by mainly developers and some adventurous souls). A couple of crashes still need to be fixed before going for open beta.

    Subsurface 4.5.4 has been released.

    Changes since 4.5.3:
    - Update to latest libdivecomputer to fix a number of issues in the parsing of dive computer data (Shearmos Amphos Air, Shearwater Predator,
    several Oceanic models)
    - Add support for Oceanic / Aeris F11, DiveSystem iX3M, Shearwater Perdix
    - Fix several issues with imports from CSV, divelogs.de and other sources
    - Add better support for OSTC3 configuration
    - Fix potential rounding error when exporting weight systems
    - If XML file contains actual salinity (instead of the density value that we call salinity), correctly interpret that value
    - Add statistics by dive type
    - Small UI fixes

Binaries for Windows, Mac, and Linux (a universal AppImage) are available here: Downloads | Subsurface
