I was just looking at my CP, looking to clean up notifications, and there were some threads which were listed under "subscribed threads". What's this all about? Also there is a list of "friends". Ditto? I unsubscribed to the subscribed items but haven't done anything with the friends list. Wasup?

Hi Garrobo,
Although your profile shows no "Friends", the requests you have received you can accept or deny...your choice.
Subscriptions:
1-Anytime you post in a thread, you are then subscribed to that thread until you unsubscribe.
2-or at the top of of each thread is a drop-down with "subscribe to thread", where it then asks you if & how often you wish to be notified of thread updates.

You can edit the default setting for these notifications here in General Settings in your UserCP:

Your thread subscriptions appear in your usercp. By default you are set to "automatically subscribe" to any thread you post to.

If you'd like to change those settings, from the UserCP, click on General Settings -> Messaging and Notification. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions

Settings.jpg There you can select how you'd like to be subscribed, if at all.

As far as the friends thing goes, it's just like facebook. Send friend requests by clicking on another user's name
buddy.png and then add them as a contact. You can view your friends by clicking on "Community" at the top of the page, then
"Buddies and Friends"
