Update: shore diving.
Just went to Maui with reservations to do 13 dives: 5 beach, 4 boat, 2 scooter and 2 Avelo. Managed to do 3 beach dives and 2 boat dives before the Lahaina fire destroyed the shop (Dive with Harmony).
The SG rig performed admirably for both beach and boat. After reducing some bioprene since March, I used 10 pounds of lead: 3,3,2,2. Perfect with board shorts and rash guard.
