Back many years ago when the internet was just starting to grow, I signed up for an isp and my name was already taken so I added a 1 to it and it worked. Pretty boring but it's mine and I've had it for a long time.

Moogyboy...

Well, as you may know I am, among other things, a life-long music fanatic, both listening to and playing. One of the areas of my hobby I especially love is vintage electronic keyboards, ie organs and synthesizers. Probably the most famous brand of old synthesizers was Moog--think Wendy Carlos, Keith Emerson, bla bla. Heck, I own a Moog synth myself. Also there was once a musician named 'Moogy' Klingman who used to play with Todd Rundgren among others, and I suppose that was the missing piece.

Incidentally, here's an old ad for my particular keyboard, where you can also see where my avatar came from.

cheers

Really nice instrument! (I have a lesser Korg...)

I like to say to my friends, "Ive suffered for my music - now it's your turn..."

'doole' however, is me name. There's a theory that it's a contraction of ancient Oggam words that meant 'great tall blonde idiot', or something to that effect. It seems that Viking types used to occasionally wash up on the Strangford coast in Northern Ireland; 'Strangford' apparently being a Norse contraction of "strong current".

So, the usual raping and pillaging took place and - presto! - Dooles.

By the way, we are also the ancestors of Doyles, Dooleys, O'Tooles and all them other upstarts. :dazzler1:

compared to mine. VM only allowed 8 characters for userids, so my trailing 'S' got truncated.

What's a VM? VM is an operating system for IBM S/390s (umm zSeries these days). It stands for "Virtual Machine" -- we each had our own little virtual 360 on the 390, with it's own virtual printer, disk storage, and card reader.

Mine's simple, it's my e-mail and no one else has it.

What I find interesting are the avatars. I've been having fun with mine. ShakaZulu's are always interesting but I like Afraid-of-Fish's.
