A co-worker of mine said she saw on Saturday's 6 pm news of a near drowning diving accident in Stonington, CT.

Anyone hear about this?

Stonington-WTNH, June 8, 2003 6:00 PM) _ There were some scary moments for a scuba diver in Stonington this morning.

It happened during a Scuba class on Long Island Sound.

Police say the man suffered a medical emergency and nearly drowned.

Luckily another diver was able to save him and get help.

Tonight the man is in stable condition at the hospital.

Police say the buddy system saved the man's life.

They say it's important to always dive with a partner.

You should introduce yourself!

Funny, he was worried about his gear...

He was lucky to have a good buddy... if this were a solo dive or "I lost my buddy" story, I bet it would have had a different outcome...

That is really creepy to think about. I did my cert dives there and I know the instructor likes to do almost all of her diving with students there because it is not very deep. Maybe only 10-20 in different areas. Wow!
