Beaches with lots of Osysterball tumbleweeds are good choices. They come in with the high tide at night, just like blue crabs. When the tide starts to draw outward, they bury in mud under pilings, rocks, and oyster beds/balls. I have a few places to collect them at beaches, but the taking has been small in past years. I hadn't seen such a dramatic increase up here. Last check had them at Publix at 9.99 pound. As Colin said though, if those lil' buggers snag a finger, you'll think they were a Maine Lobby!

BTW - diving for crab is cool, but watch those claws. If it grabs you, be prepared for possible crushed bones. These guys have insane crush power!

Oh man... why did you have to go and tell them THAT! :D It's always more fun to watch someone dance a jig underwater... :rofl3:

BTW: I've never seen anyone with a broken bone, but I sure have seen some nasty bruises due to the stoners.

The claw prices down here range from $14-28 per pound and subject to change almost weekly.
