Just talked to a buddy who dates someone who works for the Sheriff's department there. The woman and the ray were killed pretty much instantly on impact. She had severe facial damage. There is a video online now shot from a helicopter that circled the boat she was in but it only shows the ray. Spotted Eagle ray, fairly good size.

Man, what are the chances of that happening???

Then again, didn't someone recently post about a spotted eagle ray that dove onto her boat and died when 3-4 people couldn't lift it back into the water?

I am too lazy to find the thread right now. It was around Dec. or Jan. and happened in Cozumel
