It's Pressed Steel Tank (Pst)

Looks like it was born in January of 1971

The C in 1C71+ may be a stylized CL for Cochran labs who did a lot of the independent testing for PST

As built it had a rated pressure of 2250 and with the plus symbol it would be filled to 110% of 2250. At that + pressure it should have the advertised capacity in cubic feet. Specification are spotty on some of the older cylinders. If you come back with dimensions some experts can help, pinpoint the capacity (@110%) ,72 CF is quite likely.

Yes, 71.2 cu/ft @ 2475 psi. Actual diameter 6.9" About 4 pounds negative full and 1 pound positive empty.

Even thought they're advertised at neutral empty, I'd agree that mine are slightly positive empty.

I have 10 of them and fill them in a water tank and every one of them is slightly positive at 500 psi.
