For the "umpteenth" time. There was no "DOT bulletin". The "bulletin" was a ghost written article on the PSI-PCI infotainment website. While they may think so, they are not the DOT.
Exactly. Pretty crappy response on their part. Rather than contacting the current PST owner, they sent that out. IIRC, it was someone on this site who contacted the owner. They weren’t aware that the exemption had expired, but promptly renewed it. PSI-PCI should have done that, but chose not to.

It appears they are DIN valves, and I'm setup for yoke right now. I'd have to do the conversion (Zeagle F8) which I can do, but that combined with a 5hr drive, having to do the hydro and then the fact that its a 7/8" stem and it seems there are adapters to do twins etc. but they are expensive and hard to come by... so I'm not sure its worth it.

Oh sorry, the board wouldn't let me upload all the images, so the one that said that about Nitrox only wasn't included, here it is:
Thanks. My valves have that circular impression. Sometimes there is nothing there, sometimes it has a company logo. Just tell the dive shop what level of cleaning you want, and you’ll be good. If they mark the system as O2 cleaned, I’d just pop that off.

Yes. They are. They are also the dedicated DIN valves. 3442 PSI tanks usually come with combo valves that can be used with either yoke or DIN. These extra 58 psi means DIN only.

Yeah, I agree. The 5 hour drive would be the killer for me. But, that might depend on your actual location. I’m in FL, so there are tanks everywhere.

I have a pair of 3500 Norris tanks, they just got a hydro this year, they have an E number and may be made by PST? $175 each in hydro would be a great price.

There may be inserts for the valves. My PST 80s all have that option, din or yoke..

Are you saying there might be inserts for 3500 / 300 bar 7/8” DIN valves? I‘ve never heard of them, but that doesn’t mean much, maybe there is such a thing?
The 300 bar valves have a much deeper DIN threads so convertible 3442 /200 bar inserts would sit way too far in.

3500psi 7\8 valves are (almost) exclusively 300 bar DIN valves and will not work with inserts - 300 bar DIN regs only.

3442psi tanks use the common 3\4 neck thread and 200 bar DIN convertible valves which are redily available. In PST the tanks are the E7-xxx and E8-xxx series. Worthington was the X7-xxx and X8-xxx series.

[Note: There were some factory 200 bar DIN manifolds made with 7\8 threads. I have 2. They are the only ones that I have heard of. So they do exist, but are effectively unobtanium (unless you want to buy them ... $$$). Do not count on finding any.]

Does that mean it would not really be possible to turn these into twins later when I get there?
