I have to agree with the others who suggested Florida.

Fly into FLL, WPB, or MIA, lots of diving right there or rent a car and drive down to Key Largo.

look at the diving in Ft lauderdale area:

Dude, I live in Hawaii but I relish my trips home where I can dive lake travis. To keep it short, wherever ther is water, there is probably diving. Check out the local stuff wherever you find yourself and have fun.
