Those details do make a difference. Replacing gear or buying a spare of a known item is a prime way to save some $$ online, if the LDS won't match.
Remember to be patient with your wife diving is an adaptation and you have a head start. Odds are her experience of getting hurled under waves as a surfer will make scuba seem like a walk in the park. But be prepared for anything and be as supportive as needed.
Have fun,

tpb31:, Since he was a younger guy, maybe it made him feel tough to yell at older guys. Then on top of that, he wasn't paying attention to where he was when in the water, he must have kicked everybody in the head, including the main instructor numerous times just because he wasn't paying attention. It gave some of us practice putting our masks back on and clearing, but it was annoying that he kept doing that.
spectrum:Who said harassment training is a thing of the past.:11: You mean he didn't turn anyone's air off?
I wouldn't give a second thought to your wifes bupoyancy control as you describe it. As long as she understands the underlyng principals it will all come easier with experience in open water. Experience is the key.

MurkyRockDiver:Sounds like you are having fun which is the main idea. As to being able to dump air while horizontal just show her the rear dump valve at the bottom of her BC on the right and or the one on her right shoulder.
These will make it easier for her to keep her buoyancy and still remain horizontal.
