My bride and I will be on the Star Dancer for the January 26 trip to South New Britain. Trying to plan some gear purchases at the moment, and we're wondering what wet suits (if any) we need for PNG. I'm really tempted to bring along just a lycra dive skin and be done with it, given what I have read about water conditions there.... Anyone with PNG experience have any insights?

Oct the temps were a constant 87

On the Dancer, you will dive up to 5 dives a day. I use a 3 mm suit as by the end of the day, even warm waters got cooler. There are lotsa corallomorphs (SP?) that can sting you right through lycra skins. You won't regret taking a 3 mil suit.
Hmmm.....you aren't one of those yankee 40 degree divers are you?? If you are, you'll have to go naked to keep from overheating!!
