Age of the anchor, this would have came off a wood schooner that sailed the Great Lakes and by 1880 they where making wood steamers and steel steamers. This is not the first wood cross arm that we have found. We do alot of diving and know where the anchors should be at. We use lift bags to bring them to the surface and not water pumps. Look at my other post to see other anchors that we have found. Hope this helps.

So what are you going to do with the anchor? What have you done with the others?

Do you ever try to find out which ship they belonged to and what happened to the ship?
