There are lots of wrecks in the St Clair River and they range in all skill levels. One of my favorites for beginners is the Nellie Lyon in the North Channel just up stream fro the no-wake bouy near Deckers Landing. You will need a boat to reach her (unless you know someone that lives in one of the houses on shore). The water is about waist deep from the shore (where the house's are) and stay shallow for about 70 yards where it starts to drop off. The wreck lies accross the the current (which is about 1-3 mph) with the bow in about 35ft. and the stern at about 45ft. You do have to watch the boat traffic (no freighters) and fishing hooks and line. I have seen the viz on this wreck anywhere from 20 ft down to 4 ft so buddy lines might be a good idea for newbies.

Forgot to mention to check out "Tiny Bubbles" web site. He has some pictures of the wreck and a drawing too.

I'm a huge fan of Ray's Great Lakes Diving Map; it never ceases to amaze me and I can only imagine how much time and effort have gone into it's creation.
