Hi,

welcome on Scuba Board

SSI and or PADI have standard rescue course, I will say no different, is depend student ability and learning.

I took the SSI version. Neither one makes one a rescue professional.

However, what I learned in the course has made me a better diver.

I am SSI but I will be the first to recommend finding a GOOD instructor and going with whatever agency he is affiliated with. Find out their background and discuss what you are hoping to get out of the course. The courses are relatively the same PADI/SSI.

IMO very important: make sure you do the course in 3 days (not including EFR). Some diveshops will offer the course in 2 days, but I think to practice everything properly, you need 3 days.
