No, this isn’t a review of calamari appetizers at your favorite Hale'iwa dinner spot.
My friends and I saw about 6 to 8 good-sized squid at the trench on an afternoon dive over the weekend.

They were about 12-18 inches long and were hanging out at about 75 feet not far from the mound that rises up from 90+ feet.

Sorry, no pics. I passed on bringing the camera because of the trench's notorious poor viz.
I was wondering if anyone else has seen them.
 
Check this thread I posted on 7-12 and see if this is what you saw. We saw 4-5 of them in about 5 feet of water about 50yards from shore.
 
They look about the same size as far as I can tell.
It would be cool if they hung out there on a regular basis.
