The zip ties I use are tiny and don't pose a problem with the functioning of the strap, but your idea is something I may have to try later, ReefHound.

Bill, I use stainless anchor shackles for most post fins:
You may be able to swap out the ends for these. I have not heard of them coming off a post, ever.

Thanks everyone for the good info as usual! And Dr Bill my manta springs came with little black zip ties just for that purpose and I had to use them as well. Ed
