Go to Leisurepro.com and do a searh for "spring straps". Selections start at 24.95

I don't think they include the internal cave line. Be sure to add that with enough slack to don and doff. Other wise one off balance pull can ruin a spring. I don't know if any of the commercial offerings include the limiting cave line.

Depending on your exact interests there's lot's to be found with a search in the DIY forums too.

They're for clumsy people like me who can't get my fins off quickly when trying to climb a boat ladder. Best investment I've made.

For my jets, I use these: $42.00 includes S&H. You have to put them on yourself.

Once you have tried spring straps you'll never go back. They are that good. Surf entries and exits are a lot easier. Also, you will not get sand caught in the buckles and mechanisms, which on some fins screw-up latching the fins on or off.

For boat stuff it will make it easier getting up a ladder, getting back in the boat, handing your fins off, etc.. For entries off a boat, it’s probably not that big of a deal, unless people are waiting for you while you’re adjusting your OEM straps.

i know this question might sound completely idiotic to you guys but.....
what are the main purposes of a spring strap?

Ease of donning and doffing, and NEVER having to replace straps. I like the one's @ www.gorilladiving.com

Sorry guys,

Here's the correct links:

http://stores.ebay.com/Blue-Water-Sports-and-Diving

Under this site, look for springs and they will tell you how to measure the length and type of spring for which type of fins.
Commercial springs for Jetfin types and the Standard spring straps for Apollos and the like which has rubber knobs.

Cheers,
