My roommate and I are planning a dive trip for spring break next year (early March 2007) and we're looking for either some wreck dives or kelp forest diving. Looking for any input on good sites/places to stay.

Well, sbg_diver, San Diego has both. Do some dives at wreck alley and then the Point Loma kelp beds. You could camp at Campland on the Bay which is always rockin' during spring break.

Or, if you REALLY have a pile of money, wreck dive in Palau, then re-enter the United States at LAX. From there, stay overnight at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills, then take a limo to Ventura and dive the northern Channel Islands aboard the Peace. You won't find any better kelp forest diving than here in So Cal!!!

Let us know which package you choose. :D
