I would first look at the typical causes of excess air consumption before thinking about switching fins. Plenty of people have good air consumption with regular fins. The idea that split fins will reduce your air consumption sounds more like a marketing ploy than anything else.

I have and use both regularly. I have worked with them both and can do the alternative kicks just as well with fine movements with either one. You have to learn your gear. The only kick I can't do, because of a leg injury, is a back kick and that is with either fin. I have driven my doubles in high flow systems with my splits without any issues at all, including keeping up with everyone in blade fins. Initially I get more torque (thrust) with the blade fins but the efficiency of the splits catches up pretty quickly. Use of the fins is mostly learning to use your gear and what works for you. On longer trips the splits really make a positive difference for me as they tend to lessen the knee pain and cramps I get ever since my knee surgery. The less pain and comfort tend to help a lot with my diving. The point is try different gear for yourself, find what works best and learn to use it.

I have been using mares excel plus, but since im a big man with like 30% fats, i used my air consumption a bit faster.

I want to improve on it, will changing to split fin will helps it a bit ? Cause i read split can reduce our air consumption

I doubt changing fins will make any noticeable difference in your air consumption if any at all. The best way to improve your air consumption is to get healthier and improve on your cardio ability. Like many of us, myself included, it appears you could stand to lose some weight.

"Friends don't let friends dive split fins!" And

"Split fins - just say NO!"

It's the vortex! It's the vortex! Please save me from divers in splitfins.Arrgghh!!

(FinnMom, no disrespect intended. I believe you're a very experienced diver, so to my mind, that and the stiffness of your splitfins are more the reason you're having some success with them. But to support splits to a newer diver who's having problems, I don't understand where you're coming from.)
