I'm sure you have all seen those new style "mags", chrome rims that spin when you are stopped. I hear they can cost more than the car they a being put on, but that's another whine. My real concern (whine) is what if someone comes racing up to his girlfriend's house, jumps out, the wheels still spinning, and a kid sticks their hand or finger into the shinney spinning rim, just like kids did when fans were unprotected. OUCH, or maybe worse. Where is Ralph Nader when we need him?

Leave Nader out of it, the solution is to give little Johnny a 15" piece of rebar. Let Johnny stick it in the spinning "spinner". That should get the vehicle owners attention.

For those who don't know what rebar is....

Now we are talking! I hate those things!

hmmm... I think you are underestimating the inteligence of the kid.

Though, it may be a problem for children like me... I was always getting hurt. :lol1:

the better ones are the rims where they stay still when your are moving. plus no kids get hurt!

The first time I saw them I was driving to work and this Buick stopped at the intersection on my right, but when I saw the wheels still spinning I didn't realise the Buick had stopped and I jammed my brakes and almost got rear-ended. It must have something to do with break dancers growing up and getting there first Buick.

They are the dumbest things I've seen next to 24" rims with a half inch of rubber on a car that had to be lifted to make it work. Around here we've got a lot of people who are very cash poor or fashion challenged as they buy the plastic hubcap version of those at Wal-Mart and stick it on... they look like a shiney lazy susan stuck to the wheel. To steal a phrase..."Here's your sign....."

I think that they should be illegall for this very reason. I haven't been rear-ended, but twice I have hit my breaks when I see 'em out of the corner of my eye.
