SPIEGEL GROVE AND FRENCH REEF REPORT, friday, 6/28/13, pics,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

outstanding on and under the water off key largo today. sunshine, light winds, 1FT rollers. 1ST dive the Spiegel grove, buoy SG1. huge baitball approaching the wreck, blue water, viz 70-90FT, light/mdt current, water temp 83F @ 60-100FT. highlight were 2 silky sharks cruising above the ship for at least half the dive(attracted I suspect to the baitball), downside, way too many divers. 2ND dive FRENCH REEF, same buoy as yesterday seeking glass minows. superior conditions for this reef; blue viz 60-70FT, zero current, 84F @ 25-40FT, absolutely no boats in the SPA! minnows and their predators were the story here. fisheye pics(#sg1-2 from the SG the others captured @ French) from timg,,,,,,,,

Thank you DT. It was great having the reef to ourselves. Reefman found a whole new batch while I was shooting the first site. The best dive I have ever had on French Reef.
