The current ones Halcyon is shipping is a 63mm gauge, (2 inch gauge, 2.375 brass housing). The gauge your missing Adam is the 54mm, (1.75 gauge, 2.125 housing). Scubapro is still making that particuliar gauge in a brass/glass medium.

If your interested in one of the smaller ones with the Halcyon branding, i have a used one available, excellent shape. I've gone to the larger one on my backgas, age and eyes dont play well together :)

I have almost got my BP/W rig ready to dive, the last thing I need is a SPG.

The guages I am finding local all have a rubber boot. (Easily removable)

I am wondering what the views are for DIR and the rubber boots on a SPG?

Does it really matter either way? Why?

I like 2" gauges for some reason...I would like a new glass one for my O2 bottle. Maybe I'll come and grab that one.

Have you also looked at hose length? If it has a boot it may come with a 32" hose. This can bow out quite a bit when your diving. I use a 24" Hose. I like to have them as short as possible so they stay close to my body. It also may be a little more difficult to tie on a bolt snap to a boot.

I have decided not to purchase the guages with the boots. (They do come with a hp hose, not sure the length)

I have found some nice 2" guages with all white faces that I think I'm going to go with. I have already purchased 26" & 6" hp hoses. Hopefully the 26" will work out okay length-wise.

I had just thought it was strange that "Everyone is using these".....the only guages they had in stock. :D

As before, thanks for all the input from everyone!

Next I need to decide on my new computer.......sure like the Shearwater Predator.

I had looked at the Shearwater's for CCR use. (Next adventure) not necc. for use with this rig. Was more thinking out loud....:) Hadn't realized that would stir the pot!

This is why I'm here....to learn. I am finding that the local (shop) "tech" guys don't neccesarily direct me in the proper direction, only the direction that sells the equipment that they carry.

I have a VT3 I use (will be using) in guage mode for my depth/timer.

I wish that initially I had received better direction (hadn't discovered Scubaboard yet) I would have made very different purchases. Hindsight.....

Unfortunately in my area there really aren't any DIR guys....at least that I've met. There are only a handful of Tech guys and when I run into them I always try and pay attention to their gear and how they have it rigged.

Other than that.....the info I find here is what I have to go on......'course on here I can get ten different views on why the color red is good vs. bad...LOL
