I had a great time on The Spectre's day-trip to Anacapa on May 30th. The boat was completely sold out; but everything went smoothly, and we we're able to get in four nice dives.

Water temp ranged from about 57 to 60 degrees. The vis was so-so at about twenty-five feet.

Unfortunately, I re-installed a nearly dead battery in my camera instead of the freshly charged one I meant to install. :dork2: Definitely a newbie error that I hope I don't repeat. I did manage to squeeze about a thirty minutes out it.

The Spectre is a great dive boat. We dove with them at the beginning of May. I'm looking forward to diving again with them on the 4th of July. What sites did you go to?

We dove Cathedral Cove, The Gold Fish Bowl, Landing Cove, and The Canyons. All preserves so lots of kelp and marine life.

The Spectre seems to be doing quite well during these rough economic times. I'm guessing it's because they do one-day trips and are very reasonably priced. The fact that they have an extremely experience and competent captain and an excellent crew helps too.

Hi Eric!
Let's see some video!!!;)

We like the Spectre, too. It isn't the nicest looking boat, or best food, but as far as function goes, it gets you to the dive sites safely and quickly. :D It does look like it is one of the few boats in Calif that isn't getting hit with the $$$ issues. We are hoping to get back out to Calif to dive this summer sometime, but not sure exactly when it will be..... Aug or Sept, and we haven't decided which boat or area. Hope to see you and Ray again though!

BTW, I just got an HD camcorder and will be getting the housing sometime this summer. :D

Hi Robin,

The food on the Spectre is pretty good compared to most of the boats out there.
