Spearing Newbie in the Keys - Looking to try it out

I'm a moderately experienced technical diver currently overwintering on my boat in Stock Island and am interested in trying out/learning about spearfishing and other underwater hunting.

Looking for some recommendations on how to go about this, where, with whom and so forth.

I do have access to a car.
