Well, it's been discussed, and I couldn't hold back anymore. I ordered a speargun! After much deliberation and trolling spearboard.com and deeperblue.net, I finally decided on the Rob Allen 120cm double band rail gun.

I feel like that kid on a Christmas Story, can't wait. Which brings me to a question for you guys(and gals) since I know you've done Pensacola. What were some of the best sites there(close in, my buddies are new divers) that held some good fish? Lookin for grouper, snapper, maybe even an amberjack or 2. I'm in love with mahi mahi but I know we'll be waaaay too close in for those. I know my gun will be a little long for inshore P-cola, but I don't care, lol! I got that length/size b/c I'll mostly be using it on the rigs of MS and LA.

Hope to get some diving with you guys soon!

I’m not trying to push any shop on you but MBT can fix you up on a boat or two for the same price of a dive ask for Jim he can fix you up. As far as a site Paradise Hole is hared to beat, but the tax man hangs that area most of the time so be careful. Florida .is not as spear friendly as MS, AL or LA when it comes to spear fishing along the beaches and Jetties.

If its this weekend there are a few boats looking for some spearO’s there going out about 12 miles or so 3 tanks on one boat and split the cost on another plus a couple of private smaller boats are looking for divers to split the cost. These old boys are always looking to get wet.

By the way nice gun

If you need some numbers drop me an PM and I'll grab a few off the boat tomorrow

Thanks, we're going with Dive Pros(I wanted MBT but it's my buddy's turn to organize the trip). Going out the 30, 31, and 1(sun-mon-tues). What size graysuits we talkin about? Just as important, how's the viz close in? Dont mind em so much as long as i can see em comin and they're not 12 foot makos or hellspawn as i call them. Any help on gettin with spearos in the area would be appreciated!

I got the PM I’ll grab you some numbers today and a URL to a site where some local spear fisher hang out looking for divers and rides. Dive Pro’s seems pretty good at least I hope so soon I will be diving with one of their instructors

I am new to the whole spear fishing but have been dieing to give it a try. I am going down to the keys in july and am trying to find some information on some boats or anyone who can help me out. there may be 2 or 3 other guys interested and if we can rent equipment that would be best.
