I recently received a "friend" request from a member who's only interest seems to be promoting the product that they rep. Is this common/allowed? I thought they were restricted to certain forums for advertising unless there is a specific request or thread related to their product. My impression was that this was a type of "spam" fishing expedition for new customers since I never referred to this specific product or even any issues related to these items in general in any of my posts.
