Can anybody give any info on this resort,(all inclusive stays).Trip is coming up pretty soon and we need some help.
Thanks

Thanks we will look foward to hearing from you.

Went there twicw in the past 8 years. It has been awhile. But went back twice so that should tell ya something. Not bad shore dive,,dive shop on site. My ex did her open water checkout dive with them. From the beach going out to sea there are small canyonslike your fingers on your hand if you lay it flat on a table. Swim these out to the sloping wall to avoid the cross current. I think the wall is about 40 or 50 feet. Easy not to get lost. Swim either left or right along the wall and look for those finger canyons to go back up to the small inlet where the resort is. Your also close to the turtle farm. The resort will rent you a truck for the day. It has a good shore dive and a great wall. Saw a school of squid of about 20 as soon as we got in the water. Saw a Manta feeding off the dock at Spanish Bay.
I would go back again. The resort is good size but not alot of people. So the grouds are pretty open to wander around. Thought about getting one of their small conos on site. There are off from the main buildings and real close to the water. We stayed in the regular hotel room buildings.
Go for it!!

But you might like to know that some of the cruise lines sell shore excursions to the resort.

Thank you for the input, we are set to go last of April.

We just got back from the Spanish Bay and we had a great time. The rooms were simple but very clean and well kept. Never ran out of hot water, and always had good pressure. The Spanish Bay Resort is on the north end above the 7 mile busy part of Grand Cayman, so we liked that. Weekdays there would be cruise ship people at the resort during the day, but it wasn't that bad. Most of them would be at the Beach Club, the sister resort. I would not want to stay there.
The food was excellent! For breakfast, you could get a fresh omlet made to order and many other choices along with plenty of fresh fruits. Lunch had lots of choices along with hamburgers right off of the grill and some days they had ribs or grilled chicken. Dinner was always something different, and there were always choices.
The shore dive was good and there was a dive boat there to take you out as well. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. Especially the barmaid named Joy.
We will definetly be back.
Have fun!

Thank you very much, that makes us more comfortable with our choice. Did you venture off anywhere else to shore dive, or were you content with staying there. Did you dive with wet suit, shorty or otherwise and do you know what the water temp was.
Thank you, hope to here back.
Will let you know how it went for us.

Water temp is currently 80 +/-1 around Grand Cayman.

We went down to the Sunset House for a shore dive once to do something different. About half of my dives I didn't wear a wetsuit at all and was pretty comfortable. Occasionally we would hit a chilly spot. A shorty would be perfect.
Have fun!
