Yes, the Mk 10 uses the standard "universal din connection that SP uses on everything besides the Mk 5.

Knowing how Scubapro likes to retain compatibility of design, I took a din retainer from a Mk20 DIN upgrade kit and installed a scubapro plastic wheel 300 bar din connector on one of my Mk5s. I didn't torque it tight but it fit and held pressure and looked like it would work OK. Only problem I saw is the din wheel was starting to bind on the Mk5 saddle but I'm sure that could be worked around with modification or change of the saddle or even the din wheel. Your thoughts?

That's interesting....I always thought that the threads were different between the V and X.
If that's the case you could try a DIN converter for the Oceanic clone it might have more clearance.

I'll have to check when I get home regarding thread and o-ring location. I suspect a Mk 20 trim piece/saddle would work to replace the saddle on the Mk 5.

It's scubapro so I expected the threads to be the same. And the universal din retainer and yoke nut will accommodate the o-ring on the side or on the end. I didn't try the Mk20 saddle but assumed it might work or at least be easier to modify.

Could you just leave the saddle off altogether?

Looking forward to hearing the outcome of this exchange. Thanks all for the effort.

Sure, you could leave the saddle off. Maybe a little caulk to fill the gap. But that's just my high standards at work again.

OK, you guys made me dig out all those parts and check. It binds with the Mk20 saddle also. But it looks like you could take a Dremmel tool to the inner ring on the saddle that sits up a bit higher and fix that. But then there would be no place for the caulk.

I also took the old din retainer which has a square shoulder above the threads, stuck the Mk5 o-ring on there and screwed it in. I did not put it under pressure but it looks like it should work fine. Perhaps the difference between the Mk5 din and more modern SP din retainers is just the compatibility with the saddle. Heck, was Mk5 din even available in 300 bar?
