My first Mk10 Plus of the last generation from '96, matte, sr number lasered into the body, seems never touched water.
Who buys in '96 this beauty, leaves it for a quarter of century in the cupboard, and sells it then together with a brand new R190 for couple of bugs?!
I don't get it.......:shakehead:
No complaints..........:yeahbaby:

That would mean with a stainless steel piston, right?

Well done, Axe.
Couv?
For me all MK9/10 pistons have been stainless steel pistons, or are there any others types I don't know?

I could be misremembering, but I think SP experimented with brass round knife edge pistons in the early productions of the MK10 Plus. The (non plus) models all had SS sharp knife edged pistons.

I think you are mixing that up with the early MK20 Piston with the blunt brass edge, the 'Creeper'........

But the seats held up forever with that soft brass tip sliding around …

And again, every time I think I have seen already all MK10 (PLUS) models, then comes another beauty along.
I had been sure that the matte MK10+ models came out only in the last production year, but this one seems to be an earlier model (94-95) with the old style DIN connector, a HP seat (white) I have never met before and a piston with a particular slightly different made orifice.
It came with an early D400 2nd (unfortunately already with the Delrin Orifice), that has an extremely long S/N I also don't remember to have seen before.
And again it looks like it has not been used before, but who knows.
Anyway, it's a nice collectible 1st and I learned again something new about the model series of the MK10s, that's really fun!
Hope you enjoy the pics.......

Ace!

I think that came from around the same year the Plus and standard pistons were the same except for the knife edges. See attachment (slightly newer model than your above)

Yes, I think, since the model on the '99 schematics has already the sleeve on the piston, it's definitely a later model, so is, I think, also the one on my '97 Schematics, because it has already the plastic knob on the DIN converter, my one is still metal.
But maybe that's just a matter where it has been produced, Europe or the US, but I'm pretty sure it's original.

Wow that's a nice regulator, I'm curious how well it holds IP. I haven't had good luck with the couple of MK10+ that I've worked on. I have a conversion kit to turn one of my MK10s into a plus but I never installed it.
