Any good tutorials out there on how to cleanup/avoid backscatter...?

On all my interioir wreck shots its everywhere!

You'll find a bunch of threads on this as well as resources in the tips and techniques forum. I've found the healing brush in PS7 works well, but there are other ways to do it that are faster, but I suck at photoshop so I haven't learned them yet.

Finally just bought my Ikelite 350 housing! hopefully UPS gets here sooner rather than later!

Just had one question does anyone know which wide angle lense works best for the ikelite housing? I decided to go with a ds-125 strobe because it has great coverage + 1sec recycle time between shots, also in the future I might be upgrading to a d70 set-upand this would be a good strobe for that camera....just couldn't afford it right now!

Btw..love this tread great advice! Thanks for the help!

I am not sure it will really make a diffeence. The Wide Angle with the Dolphins has a fixed focal length, so you can just basically point focus and shoot. The wide angle with the baracuda allows for zoom in and zoom out, then focus and shoot. I found this one more difficult to use, but I was drift diving, perhaps if you are in minimal current it would be easier (I hope to find out soon).

Good luck.

Here are some of my better shots, i've done 4 dives so far (we're in Cozumel). No post processing except for a little cropping and converting from RAW. Nurse Shark was taken as a JPEG.

When I get back I'll give a better review of what I think of the camera... but so far it's working great. I bought it as a backup camera but my housing for my 5060 took a dump (a spring is stuck) so the 350 is getting it's chance to shine.

flickr seems to take awhile to load... or maybe it's my slow connection speed here, hopefully they will all load.

To UW Wideangle Lens Users:
Why does everyone want these extreme UW wide angle lenses? Do they distort as much above water as extreme wide angle lenses do? How can you light with flash such a large object? Don't you have to be inches away to get moderate closeups? Why wouldn't a moderate UW wide angle do, and if so who makes one?
Just curious if I need one.
Thanks, Don

I use an Inon UWL-100... Why? So I can get my strobe closer to the object (wreck/people) and get better flash coverage.

Ont he subject of distortion - you can either zoom in a little to reduce - or use a post processing s/w to remove the distortion... I havn't played yet in photoshop - but here's a link to one of the best uw photo discussions I've found...

I was about to order the INON wide angle lens, the macro lens and their strobe (so much for the small cheap camera set up that I had planned).

My question: the INON 2000 strobe is out of stock in Singapore for a month or two - but I'll be heading to lembeh next week. Is there any point getting a macro lens now and using it with the on camera flash without a strobe, or is that a recipe for disaster?

Cheers,
Rohan.
