I have a work-related trip to Israel in June (8-10 June). While in the region, I would like to book a LOB or land-base resort for the Red Sea. As a DM in Southeast Asia, I prefer healthy and pristine corals, let's of fish, lack of other divers, and currents that promote pelagics (if possible). Friend's suggested that I try to arrange a Deep South itinerary (Daedalus Reef + St Johns+ Elphinstone Reef), but I am open to visiting the best sites and conditions for a post-June 10th trip.

What are your thoughts and suggestions? Let's see what else - I will bring all of my equipment, I am an experienced traveler and self-sufficient diver. Since my wife is not able to accompany me, I will travel solo.

Be very careful about going anywhere in Arab world after having an Israeli stamp in your passport. Not sure which, but some countries do not allow entry after being in Israel.

Thanks for the reminder. I have work permits and other visa from Indonesia, so I make sure that I always avoid stamps on my passport from Israel.

well i am going on the my hurricane doing daedalus, rocky, fury shoals, st johns all southern red sea daedalus is really worth going to when visiting the red sea especially at that time due hammerheads.

Hi Charlier,

A liveaboard in Sudan seems to tick all of your boxes. There won’t be many divers down there and you’ll get reefs, wrecks and plenty of pelagics. The Don Questo is a favorite LOB in the area. It’s not fancy, but if you consider yourself a serious diver, it’s a great boat.

If you’re looking for something a bit more on the beaten path, then (as you stated) a liveaboard from Marsa Alam might be better. I’m not sure if you were thinking of doing the LOB trip before or after your business, but the MY Blue Melody has two ‘Project Shark’ trips at the beginning of June.

Finally, if you’d like to stay closer to Israel, consider some of the resorts in Jordan. Among these the Darna Dive Center and Aqaba Adventures Divers Village have great reputations.

Let us know if you have any more questions. Have a great trip!

I might consider this or similar LOB's for the southern Red Sea in mid-June, but I would need to find a roommate. The single supplement is 100%. It seems that the Tornado Marine Fleet does not support a web page. How did you book the trip?

In the red sea, I use http://www.divingattitude.com/en/.
Of course if you wish you can book a whole cabin for yourself, but if you are agreeing to share a cabin (as nearly every solo travelling diver do), you don't have to find a roommate yourself, they will do it themselves (and thus there won't be single supplement).
