I am looking at diving this February in South Sulawesi, Bira Wakatobi and Hoga Island. Has any one been there at that time of the year and how were conditions. I know there are other places to dive, but these are places I have not been to yet so it is on my list.

Went to Bira South Sulawesi in December/January 2014 for 8 days.
Conditions were great. One day the seas were rough so we had to change the dive sites.
Currents were a minor issue on a couple fo dives but nothing to worry about.
The reef was in fair condition with only a couple of areas where blast fishing had destroyed the coral.
Water was comfortable with only a dive skin but I don't feel the cold, others were using 3mm shorties.
Would we go back at that time of year, yes, not to Bira South Sulawesi has a lot to offer.
