That is true -- how would you be sure the end at the base is where is should be?

:hm: I guess you could put the base against the wall.

Personally, I like the gravity assist that makes sure my tape measure is square.
 
I just mesured again with some help and its 26" without valve

Looking at all the sites, your tank does not exist.

How about measuring the circumference?

The tanks seem to come in 7", 7.25" and 7.5".

From my experience, stamping through the enamel causes cracks through which water seeps -- not good.

As for the exposed metal - Clear fingernail polish works wonderfully. :wink:
 
From the size it sounds close to an 85, also the extra designator, SCC/85

I thought that too except LP85 is a 7" diameter tank. If the OP's measurement of diameter was correct, this is a 7.25" tank.

Yes, you need to check the diameter again. Circumference divided by 3.141592653589793 = diameter
