Anyone with experience with the given forecasts feel it would be worth driving down this weekend? I wouldn't be excepting any exceptional diving, but I'd still like to get wet so long as I get beat up/endangered.

Thanks!

I was looking at the forecast and it seems like a pretty big range:

NDBC - NWS Forecast

SAT
E WINDS 5 KT...BECOMING S IN THE AFTERNOON. WIND WAVES
1 FT OR LESS. NW SWELL 7 TO 13 FT AT 15 SECONDS. CHANCE OF RAIN.

SAT NIGHT
SW WINDS 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 2 TO 3 FT.
NW SWELL 5 TO 10 FT. RAIN LIKELY.

SUN
W WINDS 15 TO 25 KT...BECOMING NW. WIND WAVES 2 TO 4 FT.
NW SWELL 7 TO 12 FT. SHOWERS LIKELY.

Brad - how has it been looking? I would really like to get a dive in this weekend as well.

I haven't looked to hard at the Monterey conditions, but I won't place you in the "crazy" column since we're scootering in Lake Tahoe this weekend.

All the best, James

....we're scootering in Lake Tahoe this weekend.

Geez. What's the water temp? A balmy 41 degrees?!?!

I actually don't have a good view of the ocean from my current office. It is starting to get overcast here and the forecast says there is a chance of showers this afternoon. I'll drive by Breakwater and see what it looks like after work. That doesn't mean it will look good tomorrow.

Thanks, that'd be a great help.

This was in the other forecast link on Chuck's Page.

TRAILING COLD FRONT PUSHING ACROSS THE COASTAL WATERS SATURDAY
AND EARLY SUNDAY. THIS SYSTEM WILL BRING RAIN...GUSTY WINDS AND
HAZARDOUS SEAS TO THE REGION THROUGH THE WEEKEND. HIGH PRESSURE
WILL THEN BUILD IN BEHIND THE DEPARTING LOW EARLY NEXT WEEK.

Geez. What's the water temp? A balmy 41 degrees?!?!

...if we're lucky. That's what it was a couple weeks ago and it's only gotten colder. If the coast was closer we'd go to Monterey just for the nice warm water temps!

All the best, James

So what brings you to dive tahoe then?!

Brad- can you post the link to CT's swell interpretation page for me? I lost the link. :-(
