We dove Travis on the 11th, first dive around 9am...it wasn't bad at all. I did not unzip my drysuit between dives like usual though!

How was the viz in Travis? Also, where'd you go diving? I'm sure its quite a hike down to the water.

Oasis Wall & Starnes Island... 6-10' or so at 55-60 feet, 54 degrees at depth. Below 60-65 the viz dropped a good bit. I went down to around 90 to check viz and didn't find anything good.

Thanks for sharing the pics Sub, I've been to CSSP twice and I've never run across that croc, pretty cool.

Cyp, I think one night would be plenty out at Balmorhea and I am usually busy on Sunday's as well so getting back on Sat night would prob work better for me too. However, it is quite a haul from then metro so a three day might need to be in order. Our kid is having surgery on Friday March 9th so I'm prob out for that weekend.

Let me know what you are thinking and I'll try and make it happen.

I'm actually open to the possibilities. 2-3 day is fine with me. The other arm of my construction company is out in the Midland/Odessa area building convenience stores, so I can plan a trip based on both work and play. With advanced notice, any combo of days Mon-Sat will work for me.

James, it's good to here that Travis is getting some of its vis back. I've been waiting to hear better reports before I head down for my first trip with Lake Travis Scuba. I'll be in search of buddies for that excursion as well. :eyebrow:

Lake Travis Scuba is the real deal, I'd be up for a trip but not until it warms up a bit. Hopefully the upland lakes see sow spring rains to help fill Travis back up.

There are a few albino catfish at CSSP. Did ya find the mine? It is near the shark. :)

Unfortunately, I did not. Where is the mine located relative to the shark?

From the limited intel that I was gathering for our excursion last weekend, I ran across a couple of posts mentioning that they found the mine when navigating from the third (southernmost) platform in the middle of the lake to Cisco. The other was traveling between the original boat that was sunk (not the Minnow) and Cisco. Maybe someone will drop in with a little more info on the mine.

That said, as mentioned earlier, I plan to be at Clear Springs this Saturday....looking for buddies, any takers?

It is in that general area. If you run across a plastic pink flamingo you are on the right track.

If I get a drysuit in time I will be up for a trip to CSSP this Saturday CYP, I'll keep you up to date on that purchase.

Best,

Tejas
