The hotel food is pretty good but if you want to book it as a bed & breakfast or simple want to try other restaurants for more variety the list is quite long. I believe there is a lengthy thread here recommending where to find restaurants catering to different tastes.

I'm hoping to get out to at least one nice place for dinner while there.. and would really like to eat some lionfish if possible.

It's our home away from home. We have made so many friends that stay there around the same time it's like a family reunion. The location is great & the staff treats us with 5 star service. My first dives in Cozumel were in 1995 & they led to one heck of a lot more trips to do it again & again.
I have a personal tie to the place as well. I tend to visit whenever I am on the island.

There are so many great places to eat on Cozumel that I have never even considered going AI. This might be a good place to start: Restaurants

The best lionfish I have found on Cozumel is the coconut encrusted filet at La Perlita

For a really nice place with great food Casa Mission is very popular & even gives a discount to Divers that present their C Card.

To finish off my update about things going on that effect anyone thinking of booking Hotel Cozumel my photo tour album is now updated to go with my comments. The majority of new photos are in the last 1/3rd of the album & were added to show the different offerings at meal times. There was a time the reputation for Hotel Cozumel got comments like "the food is terrible" or similar but in that era the AI option was almost free depending on where you booked. We could purchase it for as little as $15. per person per week when booking direct. I really don't understand what people expected for a deal like that but it always worked for us allowing visits to local restaurants without feeling we had paid for 2 dinners at the same time.
The album is here and can be viewed as a full screen slide show or 1 image at a time or a page of small images. The NEW Hotel Cozumel Photo tour album (updated 2025)
