You will not be able to solo dive off some boats without certification and appropriate equipment. One boat I have solo dived off for years turned over to new owners and tightened up their regulations.

I made the mistake of posting my end goal of hitting 500 feet when asking about a CCR. Right now I do solo diving a lot but would like to do a class on it as I find I can always improve on skills and knowledge.
You know, ”hitting 500 feet” is not hard; it’s getting back to the surface intact and alive that’s the tricky part.
