i agree with you never understand people
claiming they are solo diving on charter along with 20 other people in the water.
Solo diving doesn't require being remote it just means you have planned to dive alone and are not reliant on a 'buddy' to be available should go beyond the plan.

Having 20 other people in the water nearby merely means there could be a number of people see you draw your last breath... of water.

what me and happy diver are saying is that our definition of solo diving is being totally alone in the water without anyone around this by our own choice. I personally don't do charter boat anymore or buddy dive.

For my self this translate to go in alone and go out alone ( shore diving) i exclusively do it that way since two years. This being said i don't consider my self as a technical diver at all.

Don't take me wrong i am not saying solo diving is the best thing in the world or safer or not or bla-bla-bla. It s suit my need right now regarding my schedule around work family and past time.

I will wake up at 4 am for a 2h30 minute drive (believe me no one at the dive site when i arrive at that time sometimes so excited to go dive i will leave home at 3 am 😜) i do 2-3 dive and come back home to pick up my my kid at school between 15h00-16h00 depending on school activities. THE DREAM LiFE...

Be safe

We weren't talking remote but now I will use it in describing the distance of your mind from reality
certainly re your lack of understanding, of people, and of solo divng, then your disgraceful second
paragraph shows such a maturity lack which leads to only a conclusion that you don't belong here
