So you bought a mac and a Suunto... I understand your issue; you need to get away from mass consumer level devices.

When they release their 'NEW' model next quarter... move into a PC and a Cochran or Shearwater. Then you'll be able to upgrade, repair, and get software that works.

Funny you mention Cochran. My primary dive buddy uses one and we never talk about it and I never asked him questions about it. I will have to investigate the Cochran and hope they support Mac. Looks like Cochran has milspec equipment.

I own/use Macs and all of the dive computers I've owned are Suuntos. I use MacDive for cataloguing all of my dive profiles. No problems at all. Perhaps I'm just lucky. :idk:

@jar546: Another option is to get something like the Sensus Ultra as a standalone divelogging device, and use it in parallel with whatever make/model of dive computer you choose. The Sensus Ultra works with on both Mac and Windows operating systems. In contrast to most major manufacturers of dive computers, ReefNet, the manufacturer of the Sensus Ultra, has made the technical details of its recording devices freely available to software developers. FWIW, MacDive works with the Sensus Ultra as well.
