I just got this in my email this morning. Wow! The formatting has been goofed a bit, but you can get the picture!
The Spree needs you Help spread the word!

Word of mouth is our best advertising, and you are our biggest asset! Did you enjoy the Dry Tortugas? Do you love the Spree? Tell someone!

Public web forums like ScubaBoard and Undercurrent and social media like facebook are great ways to help spread the word through trip reports and blogs. Pester your local dive shop travel manager! Offer to speak at your dive club meeting (or invite us)! Many haven't heard of us, or think we only do research. You know better!

Help us get the word out about the beauty of the Dry Tortugas and you could earn discounted travel or even a free trip! We know you love us. Let the world know.

Here's another great example of doing Social Media right:

I'm a new diver and I always have my compass with me, but I have never needed to use or have a chance to use. Most of my dives are drift dives from boat so I just follows the person who carry the marker buoy.

Just curios, do you carry your compass with you when you dive, and how often do you use it?

Even when drift diving, a compass can come in handy. When the Divemaster or captain tells you it’s a North current, but really it’s heading at 30 degrees, and you have to head due west to hit a specific target, how could you possibly do that without a compass? A compass is a great navigational tool for all kinds of diving and on every dive. So, I use a compass on every dive.

Does anyone write down headings on a slate or wet notes?

When diving a wreck, I use a slate to write down the position and depth of the tie in, and the direction the wreck is laying.

Here Scuba.com has answered a question and has not tried to sell a thing! Users appreciate this kind of help and you can be sure that if they need a compass, Scuba.com has a good chance of getting the sale. Great job!

Congratulations to Pete "NetDoc" Murray and Elena "mselenaous" Rodriguez just completed training on the KISS GEM PSCR! Jen and I spent the week in Key Largo training Pete and Elena on the GEM. First, I have to thank them for their generous hospitality! Pete and Elena are the nicest people. It's rare for a couple to meet another couple that are so compatible. We had a great time in Key Largo with them and after almost a week didn't want to leave. Thanks for the great week Pete and Elena! We will be back!

Here are some photos of Pete and Elena on their final day of training.

Here, Rob is advertising, albeit ever so subtlety, that he teaches rebreathers. Actually, he's selling FUN, FUN, FUN. Look what happens here? His students are pretty much forced to come in and talk about their experiences! Woot! This can be done with a group of divers, a single diver buying their full kit or students. Take the pic, post it here on ScubaBoard, send them the link and sit back while they do your marketing for you. It's outrageously effective! Rob does this all the time and he'll tell you straight out: he has more than enough business coming his way. He gets to pick and choose his students. That's simply awesome! Good job Rob!
