My 78 year old dive buddy Jack and I did a beach dive yesterday at Goff Island, Laguna Beach (in front of the Montage Resort). Had an hour's bottom time on my steel 72. Used my retrofitted Calypso IV. Got hugged by a baby Harbor Seal. Saw a zillion lobster in the 5 to 6 pound range (that's what MLPA's will do for ya.) All in all, a good day!

First dives of 2025 for me.

Dive Site: Just off Point Vincente Lighthouse
Date: 2/2/25
Conditions: Light wind, 3 foot swells
Water Temp: 54
Visibility: 15-20 feet at 60' down to 5-10' on the second dive
Dive Buddy: Still Kicking
Comments: Went looking for a pinnacle off the point Vincente Lighthouse. Wandered around for an hour enjoying being under water. Second dive was off was more off whitepoint beach outside the protected area. Had fun chasing lobster in the rocks and low vis at 50' but they were all 4-5 years and just a bit small. Nice sunny day above the water.

Did a dive last Monday just south of the MLPA in South Laguna. Took my GoPro. Here is my 1 minute video.

Yours truly:
