To let you know. There isn't much Diving that I have the money to Travel to for Dive Trips at this point. Therefore I spend time with my Dive buddy (Instructor) that trains me locally in the quarry.

So, 8 certifications later what should I go for next? Currently I am holding OWD, AD, AOW, Deep, Multilevel, Nav, Bouyancy and Search and recovery. I have my CPR and AED but trying to get First Aid so I can go to Rescue Diver. But until then I spose I can get more specialties, I am thinking Drysuit, Nitrox, Would like to do Wreck (Already have my knowledge reviews just need the dives) and hoping to go to Ginnie Springs for Cavern.

Any suggestions on which first?

I have nothing better to do than study, train and better my diving. What to do?

With under 50 dives and 8 specialties, you should stop taking classes and do a hundred or so dives outside of a training environment. If you must take a class, take nitrox as it, of all the specialties you have, is probably the most useful.

I agree with you , the problem that you may encounter should u ever go anyhwere else is familiarity. ou need to take these skillsu have learned and better them by diving in different inviroments andnot just doing the courses in confined water areas.
Nitrox is one you can never go wrong with but the rest i would give it a rest unless u intend colelcting badges for ajacket.:no

Save the money and go vist the ocean to exsperience what it has to offer.
In South Africa ,we have a similar problem that divers aretrained in QUarries in land and when they come to the coast they battle to dive in the ocean with doifferent bouyancy and conditions.ie currents surges etc.

hope this helps

safe diving:D

Yanno, a Dive is a Dive and every one is experience. I have the best chance in the world to Train train and train more. Why not take that chance. It's kind of like Getting a Degree before going to work :) I am just looking for my PhD ;) Why not get Credit for those dives in a Training type manner?

And I do have non-training trip planned in Feb but I like to get wet before then. The rest of my dives will still be local. I am that diver that likes to go to 50 feet turn face up to watch the sun come through the water. I was the last out of the water in the Confined because I would lay at the bottom of the pool and just stare at the ceiling. it is a passion and dive trips are comming. Like I said I have a friend that is teaching me at prices I can afford at this time so why not take the training with a smile.

diving is 90% experience, though

you need to cut the umbilical chord and go diving

rescue and nitrox are good classes to take.

other than that, go dive. come on down to Florida and dive the springs. i'll go diving with you, for fun ... that's how you learn to dive. all you have is 8 licenses to learn. you need to apply that knowledge in order to increase it.

I concur, GO DIVE! If you are bored with the location, change it, or change your expectations. Drill, challenge your bouyancy skills, take a new diver out to the Quarry, anything to keep you learning and refining your skills.

Yeah you do. Find some non-instructor types. Try to head out diving with them. Work on your buoyancy, air planning and try to get some equipment so used it needs service. All without giving another dollar to PADI :)

I agree with packhorse!!

Surprised not to see Master Diver amongst those listed of your cards.
