I enjoy big, roomy seats, low passenger ratio per attendant, and free drinks - but I would never spend $310 to upgrade. :shakehead: While doing my online check-in tho, it offered me a $99 upgrade. Thinking I'd spend $65 on luggage fees anyway, I looked to see if Business class still got 2 free checked bags - but couldn't find an answer...?!

Phone call #1 last night went to an agent I could not understand. Call #2 today went to an agent with a computer problem. Call #3 went to 12 minute hold time, but I finally got an agent who answered my question: Business class passengers get to check 2 bags for free! :thumb:

So I went to upgrade and the price had gone back to $310! Ok, I tried online check-in all over, then got the $99 UG, and got it done. After all that, I checked my luggage fees online: Nada, free, no charge for first 2 bags - up to 70 pounds each! :eyebrow: Net cost for comfort now only $34 and no worries about my luggage scales being wrong.

Your rationale has pretty much kept me riding in the front for a number of years now. While this generally works out quite well for Caribbean trips, it's a lot harder for SE Asia. But now I'm spoiled and the idea of moving back, especially for overnight flights . . .unh unh. . .can't go back. This has been biting into my budget to say the least!

I rode up front for years until Delta pulled out of Lubbock. I've made the adjustment to Tourist class again, but it's nice to ride up front at times - if the cost is ok.

I slept from Cancun to Houston, as usual. It was comfortable, and I had a couple of drinks.
Nice meeting you Don. Glad you had a good trip home.
I met you on Melgar in front of the Mexicana, right? Good to meet you, too.
