From what I understand it's a "Salvo Diving" light made by Barry Miller in High Springs Fla. Barry worked for Halcyon in the past and designed some of their lights.

I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with them. Seems strange he would be a part of undercutting his own business or is this a distribution thing? I guess warranty issues would be a big question mark.

It's a different product from what's on his web site. This one is fixed focus.

I'm also interested in hearing about any experience with it. Would be a great value if the beam is tight.

Just ordered one. Hope to have it by Tuesday. I'll take it diving in Key Largo this coming weekend. I'll post a report when I get it, and another after diving with it.

I have not dove one, but have seen it in person. It's definately looks like quality to me. I'm curious to hear reports on it as well. It's a great price, and it even comes with the goodman.

Well, apperently Dive Rite doesn't like it, they dropped their MR11
10 watt HID Slimline down to 500 bucks. :D

Come on HID Light Price WAR ! ! !

Yes, I saw that in the last couple of days. Seems like the Dive Rite would be the way to go, esp. since you have the option of going adjustable for another $50.

Can't help but wonder if something isn't about to happen, such as the intro of an LED that competes light wise or .... ???? They have about hit my entry price point ... I may have to jump soon.

Guess after all the reading I am not sure about going fixed or adjustable. Pros and cons all over the place. Guess it's a nice problem to have (as they say).

Hi, all. Just got it today. Looks like a fine unit. The craftmanship appears well executed. Cannister body is Delrin, with an acrylic top. Light unit is also delrin, with an attached goodman handle. It appears to be anodized aluminum. I think it is on a par, at least, with the Halcyon ones I've seen.
The interesting thing is that it came with a store price tag on it. The part number from the store is SAL0001. Make of that what you will.
I'll be giving it a dive test this weekend in Key Largo, at which time I'll post a more in depth review.
Any questions, feel free to ask!
Chris
