H2Andy:
would regular "crazy glue" work, or do you need a neoprene-
compatible glue? if the later, what's a good brand?

thanks!

Would you need like a marine glue or neoprene glue. I just sewed mine and it worked well.

Also if you are nervous about sewing onto your wetsuit, you can sew the pocket to some scrap neoprene and then glue that neoprene to your wetsuit.

I want to keep a snorkel for safety so it can be used when I go back to the surface.

Could someone explain me where and how it should be attached to the BC during the dive?

Thanks

jmlavoie

How do you believe the snorkel enhances your safety on the surface ?

Even before I converted to DIR I seldom used a snorkel and then only for observing the bottom while I was swimming out to the descent point.

On the surface I am on my back with the wing inflated.

The only time I carry a snorkel is when it is required by local law or regulation as it is Laguna Beach, CA. In those cases I carry a foldable snorkel in the very bottom (since I won't be needing it) of my left hip bellows pocket.

Take care

Check the top of the page. This IS the DIR forum. This is where people are looking for and giving answers that fit the DIR diving system as taught by GUE.

I suggest that everyone go back and re-read the 'sticky' posts at the top of the list in this (DIR) forum before posting again.

While discussion is encouraged and a little fun helps keep us reading and learning, TROLLING and INSULTS will get you a vacation.

Being as how snorkels supposedly aren't DIR, this whole thread would be in violation of the guidelines. It's very difficult to make useful comments and critiques about something in a DIR context, when said topic isn't DIR itself. Honestly I can't tell what's a valid "troll commment" and I'm assuming most other folks won't be able to either.

Insults however, those are easy. :eyebrow:

That is why the moderators make the big bucks.
We make the tough calls.
:D

BTW Are you interested in buying a bridge? Or maybe a slightly used dive boat, only sunk once. :eyebrow:

Hack and slay part II, sorry...
