I don't (can't) dive, but think I'm addicted to snorkeling. Have only been a couple of times but need to make it more a part of my life.

Had first snorkel in Hawaii (forget which island) in 1981, went back to big island this Feb and it was wonderful - but wayyyy to far away. Both times we just waded in from the beach, but I wouldn't mind going in from a boat. Went to Key west February 2009 but it was too cold to get into the water, and water was too rough, very windy.

What I love about it is the COLORS - the sun thru the water, the fish, the the sea plants... and the feeling of floating, the excitement of following a critter....

Anyone know the best spots to go during February and April school vacation weeks? Any place quick to get to from Massachusetts for a 3 or 4 day weekend in between school vacation weeks?

Must feel safe, NO SHARKS, calm clear waters....
