We will be in Cozumel on a cruise from 1PM to the night. Our family of 4 (including 2 boys ages 7 and 9) enjoys snorkeling and we have our own equipment. Friends suggested taking a taxi to Dzul Ha , and others said to check out Chankanaab, although the latter may not be as good for snorkeling. The beach at the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel has also been suggested. Any thoughts as to what offers the best snorkeling without a long swim from shore, and without a lot of current? Any other ideas?
Thanks

Walk right in to Plaza Las Glorias like you own the place and snorkel right in front of the pier. We have done it on the last few occasions in Coz. Its right downtown and within walking distance of the cruise pier. Good drinks, decent food, great snorkelling and swimming right in front. There is a fresh water beach shower and palapas for shade. There is also the nice pool if you get tired of the ocean. Look at it this way, if you don't like it (and I am sure you will like it), you can always grab a cab and head to one of the other destinations.

That depends on which pier the ship uses. If it docks at the southern piers, near La Ceiba, then Playa Corona (just south of Chankanaab) would be my recommendation.
